LaurenHill Academy learns about antisemitism and hate

February 28, 2023 – During a PED day in January, LaurenHill Academy in St. Laurent  received a very special workshop from The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) organized by Spiritual and Community Animator Jessica Wilson. CIJA works to protect the quality of Jewish life in Canada through advocacy.  Emmanuelle Amar, CIJA’s Director of Policy and Research (Quebec), discussed antisemitism and hate, and what that looks like in schools, as well shared hands-on resources teachers can use to educate and empower students.

About the Project

The objective of the EMSB Holocaust Education Program is to sensitize students and staff to the history of the Holocaust and acts of Antisemitism via special guests, lectures and visits to the Montreal Holocaust Museum and different exhibits and programming in the community. It is supported by a Nova grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal.
