When the teachers returned home they were equipped with a new wealth of information, teaching methods, lesson plans, guidelines for ceremonies commemorating the Holocaust, multimedia teaching tools, and strategies to approach historic and current topics from racism to anti-Semitism to bullying. Each teacher utilized strategies that were suited to her/his field of teaching (drama, English/French, arts etc.) and students’ age. Teachers felt “prepared” to approach sensitive topics in an engaging and age appropriate manner, to answer difficult questions, and to inspire their students to create a better tomorrow.
