Honoré Mercier and Gerald McShane students visit Museum

Montreal, December 2 , 2022– The English Montreal School Board Holocaust Education Program, made possible thanks to support from the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal’s Nova Grants, continues.

On November 16 and December 1,  students from  two elementary schools – Honoré Mercier in St. Leonard and Gerald McShane in Montreal North- visited    the Montreal Holocaust Museum with Spiritual and Community Animator. Mary Poullas. This was part of their moral and ethics education to better understand the history of the Holocaust and to bring attention to the ongoing problem of racism and antisemitism.

The students were moved by the stories told by the tour guides as they reinforced the message that we must all take steps to move forward without forgetting the past.

About the Project

The objective of the ENSB Holocaust Education Program is to sensitize students and staff to the history of the Holocaust and acts of Antisemitism via special guests, lectures and visits to the Montreal Holocaust Museum and different exhibits and programming in the community.
