Dunrae Gardens Visits Museum

Grade 6 students at  Dunrae Gardens Elementary School in TMR visited the Montreal Holocaust Museum after a month of learning about the Holocaust. The visit emphasized the values of compassion and empathy.

“The students, well-informed from their prior learning, were highly engaged throughout the comprehensive tour,” said Personal Development and Community Involvement Service Animator Puynung Choy .  “We were deeply struck by the reality that, during a time of rapidly growing antisemitism, very few countries opened their doors to protect those in need.

“There were many thought-provoking exhibits in the museum that sparked meaningful discussions and a sense of shock among the students. However, beyond the dire and gruesome experiences endured by the Jewish people, what stood out was the extraordinary resilience and humanity they maintained toward one another. The cohesion of their community remained steadfast. This was a significant trip, one we hope to make an annual tradition. We will be back!”
